Record Grading

In my personal opinion I believe it’s more important what a record sounds like than how it looks. Every record for sale on here has been played, whether it’s been in my Wurlitzer Jukebox or on my Technics record player. I am trying my best to give an honest opinion on every record, therefore if it looks Excellent but sounds Good it will be listed as Good. I’m not going to sell somebody a Mint looking record that sounds terrible and will only get returned anyway! I also don’t agree with how other websites list a Record as Good+ or Very Good + etc. Therefore I will always downgrade the Condition rather than trying to make out it’s something it’s not. Wherever possible all records will be sent out in their original sleeve, if not, a company sleeve where available, or a plain white generic sleeve if not.

Having said that, if you are not happy in anyway with your purchase, contact us at and Return it within 14 days and we will offer a full refund, including your return postage costs.

All records are graded to the Record Collectors Grading Guide, the details of which are listed below.

MINT – The record is in brand new condition with no surface marks or sound quality deterioration. It has probably never been played and may still be sealed. The cover and any extra items such as posters, booklets etc. will be in perfect condition.

EXCELLENT – The record will have been played but there is very little lessening of sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear or creasing.

VERY GOOD – The record has been played many times but has no major deterioration in sound quality, the surface may have light scratches or surface marks. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items without major defects.

GOOD – The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover will suffer from folding, discoloration, staining, spine splits etc.

FAIR – The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and has considerable surface noise and may even jump. The cover and contents will be badly damaged, torn etc.
